DPIConverter.live provides image-resolution tools, calculations and educational information.

Technical information

We aim to make calculations and technical explanations accurate, but image formats, software behavior and production workflows can differ.

A reported density value may come from metadata, while effective print PPI depends on pixel dimensions and physical placement.

Always verify important output before production.

Print results

Print-resolution labels are planning guidance, not universal quality guarantees.

A file with a high effective PPI can still print poorly if it is blurred, compressed, noisy, over-sharpened or otherwise limited.

A lower-PPI file can be acceptable in a large-format workflow designed for farther viewing distances.

Follow the specification of the print provider that will produce the final work.
